As of todays patch 4/17/08....

- Many keyed zones from the Ruins of Kunark, Scars of Velious, Shadows of Luclin, Planes of Power, Gates of Discord, Omens of War, Depths of Darkhollow, and Prophecy of Ro have had their key/flag requirements modified.  All players that have obtained the key/flag will still be allowed entry into the zones, as will players that have met minimum level requirements for the zones.  The zones and minimum level requirements are as follows:

- Required Level 46 -
The Howling Stones
Old Sebilis
Skyshrine to Cobalt Scar

- Required Level 55 -
Sleeper's Tomb
Veeshan's Peak
Vex Thal
Locked areas of the Temple of Ssraeshza

- Required level 57 -
Bastion of Thunder
Halls of Honor
The Temple of Marr
Tower of Solusek Ro
Drunder, The Fortress of Zek

- Required Level 60 -
Plane of Water
Plane of Air
Plane of Fire
Plane of Earth
Ikkinz
Uqua
Yxtta
Kodtaz

- Required Level 62 -
Plane of Time
Inktuta
Qvic

- Required Level 65 -
Txevu
Tacvi

- Required Level 68 -
Anquish

- Required Level 70 -
Dreadspire
Demiplane of Blood

- Required Level 72 -
Theater of Blood
Deathknell

SO Anguish, Dreadspire/Demi, ToB and even Deathknell will be open for us to ALL raid based on level with no PB issues!!! If you felt that it would be difficult to catch up and get flags or getting frustrated by being booted from zones as a PB fear not anymore! :)
Perhaps this will be an encouragement for unflagged inactive players and this also may allow some more spots for bots to participate and boost our raid force in progressing and taking on new mobs we have not defeated or attempted yet. /cheers :)
Now that Fabled are gone for another year it is time for all of us to re-focus our energies and our drive to working as a team and raiding together to take out some real nasties!

I was thinking of maybe comming back and playing with eq1 again. Meda I was formerly Zulandra the bard i'm not sure if you remember me from way way back. It was a long time ago but I've always been afraid it would be impossible to come back and be any good for any guild still killing things. What do yo think? I have a lot of time on my hands

SoF group gear is pretty much as good as or better than raid gear up through TSS (T1 is about tacvi, T2 is anguish/demi, T3 is between demi and TSS, T4 is about TSS).  Mod2s and melee focii might not be quite as good, but AC is mostly compareable and hp is higher.

Hey Zu long time no see. Ah the evil days fighting snakes in SSra...

I am just now coming back from around 16 months away. It's not bad, the rust comes off fairly easily.
Levels take the normal amount of effort, time sink as always like any game. Not to bad though. The gear drops are amazing. It is quite easy to get caught up to reasonable quality, without adding raid gear, while doing single group mobs. Lots of good changes to the game that are easy to pick up.

All in all it's still hard to beat...

Come on back.

Of course I remember ya Zulandra :) There really have been quite a few people returning after extended absences. If you or anyone else out there is on the fence trying to decide please post and log on! Come online and see for yourself catching up is not nearly as difficult as you may imagine, flags for many zones have had restrictions lowered, great gear available from group mobs and tradeskillers, and some great new features over the last year have improved many aspects of the game. :)

Highlights from Living Legacy:

  • All inactive paying and trial EverQuest accounts in good standing have been reactivated and entitled for free play up until July 25, 2008.
  • Free EverQuest Secrets of Faydwer All-In-One Pack Software (when you subscribe)
  • Unique In-Game Item Bundle (armor, weapon, xp potions, sow potions, bag, and mystery? item if you subscribe and buy the next expansion)
  • All current EverQuest hot zones offer an additional 25% experience bonus (http://livinglegacy.station.sony.com/en/everquest-welcome-back.vm)
  • More Loot!  The global drop rate has been updated throughout all of Norrath so returning and current adventurers can line their pockets.
click here to download client (will take a long time to download or patch)

(p.s. the more loot! is why we've been seeing extra stuff dropping lately I think - and maybe more named too?).
