I've thought about coming back. How is the game these days? Is there any room for a necromancer anymore?

I to have also thought about coming back but it has been so long. I was in the store just a few days ago looking at an Everquest box, lol just couldn't bring myself to do it.

wow hey guys.
sorry sites been up and down and i hadn't been here for a bit. SO... hope you see this.
I'm having more fun in game than i've had in years. Mercenaries open up a lot of solo or small group possibilities. In addition we have the sabots up to speed abd in decent gear. Plus a few other available characters that are major power houses. The combination means most anyone can run a few characters and go for most any group content. The game is very group friendly atm. Especially the last exansion SoD. Underfoot the newest is a bit tougher but still very doable with group SoD gear to start.
AA's and experience for levels comes fast and easy. There is a series of repeatable monster missions (3 of them) which can be done each day and give very good exp as in 15% or so of a level in mid 80's each. You can easily get a level plus in the 70's a day just from these. They take roughly 2 hours to do all three.
there is very good geat that is fairly easy to get with a group. your old gear is out of date. The SoD group gear is up to 700-750 per slot. Group geared characters avg mid 20k for hp and mana.
Necro's are amazing these days. Massive damage adn strong ability in both groups and solo. A good necro in ok gear is able to solo many of the group nameds in SoD.
Clerics have a bit less utility in groups with the mercs in game but can do a ton of DPS and with the aid of a bot (sabot or your own) can tackle a ton of nameds as can a good solo cleric. I've never been much of one on Hop.
There are Cleric and Warrior mercenaries. Both are fairly solid. Live Clerics are vital to raids as mercs can't be used against most newer raid encounters.
I haven't yet done a lot of exploring in UF it is quite tough, and solid gear is very necessary. We are fairly close to being able to get some raiding going again. But REALLY need a few more bodies to drive characters. HINT HINT HINT.
Come back and give it a go. The game has matured well and there are still quite a few old timers around that remember both of ya.
